What is an SSL certificate and do you need one?

An SSL Certificate (seen as 'https" then your domain address in your web browser) is an extra layer of encrypted security between your website visitors computer and the server, designed to stop others from potentially being able see sensitive information given by your customers on your website forms.

So basically, when an SSL certificate is used, the information becomes unreadable to everyone except for the server your customers are sending the information to and gives your customers the reassurance of knowing that you take their security and online safety seriously. And you have the added benefit of knowing that as Google recognises your whole website as a 'safe and secure website' (as seen in the image above by your customers in the Google Chrome browser), it can help your site's SEO (Search Engine Optimisation), because Google give priority to SSL protected websites in the rankings. This can be used as a low-cost, simple e-commerce option for a businesses with services to sell, or a few products.

It can even be used in conjunction with Google's manual calendar to show availability and let out accommodation. For example, we used this application as a more cost-effective solution for Dartmoor View Lodges (view here), with only 3 lodges to let and where other booking solutions would of offered more functionality and cost than they needed. 

But however you use it, this option allows you to have fully-customised, editable, stepped, mobile-responsive forms, right in your live web page. No programming or coding experience required. We build it for you and so you just have to edit it as and when, and/or gather information about your users with a survey, collect leads with a questionnaire, or sell directly through an order form.​

This is a very simple and customisable button can be added to your product/service description page, allowing visitors to make single-item purchases. This is suitable for very small businesses, which only sell a few items and do not need the ability to control stock or have product variations, like size, colour and quantity, etc. See images below, to see the complete scope of functionality this offers, but if this is all you need, then this could be the perfect, cost-effective solution for you.

Initial price is per button and for the creation of a product page type (a one-off cost - no ongoing fees). You then you duplicate a page and/or edit the product details yourself and to add or change products, or we can add products and/or pages for you.
